An ALTA legend Johnny B

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to share a podcast that I found with an Alta Legend, Mr.Johnny B. Johnny has been a "pro" ski bum for going on his 15th season, and I believe most of it at Alta. So if you guys want the inside information on Alta, give his podcast a listen. Also, if you want a tour give him a shout, I hear for the right incentive he is more than happy to accommodate. Plus he's a super guy, I know I dig chatting with him. Check him out! Sawickied

Thinking about A Ski Trip

Hey All,
I have created this blog to let you know what's going on in the world of skiing. I must admit though I've been a bit selfish. I've been writing about Utah quite a bit. As I sit here listening to the storm outside just keep pounding outside the window, I am just here to let you know that if you don't make it out to Utah this year, you will miss what I hope that i'm not going to jinx the gnar that's dumping everyday. I mean like 8 to 14 plus inches a day, everyday. I have never seen a winter like this in my life. I know the season of 2005 was huge as I think the Wasatch received 750 inches give or take a few feet. As it is the beginning of Feburary and we are almost at 500 inches, and if it is anything like last year the season went into June. So i'm making this short, but as a skier Alta

is the best resort hands down. But as i am meeting and riding with more and more Snowboarders, and I'm talking the whole spectrum of the pro circuit, Snowbird

seems to be the place to kick it with them. Anyway, make it out this way, skiier or boarder, Littlecotton Wood Canyon is the place to be.

Much love and don't miss out! Sawicki

One Foxy Lady

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that if you haven't heard of this metaphorical "Little" lady Roxy, well we are here to tell you that: Welcome Out Of Your Coma!!! Roxy, is everywhere! From the slopes to shootin the pipeline, to riding your bus line and the subway. This company has the ability to give you ladies the most dank snow gear, and then change into the hottest swimwear and ride the most innovative boards, respectively in both sports. And if that isn't enough you can change after a hard day riding you can change and put on Roxy perfume and still bag you the hottest dude on the slopes or beach. Honestly, I'm not even a good writer but I would like to think I have a lot to say, but I'm really at a loss for words. I can only hope that another company that I know of (Sawickied Ski and Board Wear) could reach the global sports community in the way this chic has! So in the words of what and who Roxy is; who better to tell you than the girl herself. So with no further adieu,

"I'm not just a really cool clothing brand, I'm a lifestyle that you probably live too, along with Roxy world champions and pros like Lisa Andersen, Sofia Mulanovich, Chelsea Gerogeson, Kjersti Buaas and Torah Bright. I love the ocean and everything about it, whether I'm surfing in Fiji with my friends, or standing at the water's edge in France, while the waves pull the sand out from under my feet, back to the sea...I love it. I ride powder in Canada and dare to jump off backcountry cliffs in Switzerland. I love adventure and traveling. I keep up on the latest fashion trends and make up my own. I sometimes go to bed with salty hair after a fun day of surfing. I take care of my environment and help out my favourite charity. I love music and trading songs on my iPod with all the people I meet on my travels around the world." Roxy's official myspace page. So props to the ladies and the chics that rock our socks! Peace and Much Love - Sawickied

OrbisPages.com is a website that will do more than yellow pages at a cost you will not believe! This site offers your website or blog web engine exposures, site maps, products, images, and it really allows you to create a website (If you do not already have one), within the Internet community already. Affordable Health Care in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons areas!

Hey all!

Wanted to share a very important topic while visiting and playing in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon areas, here in the Salt Lake City Area. Unfortunately, part of playing hard is paying the price when we yard sale it hard, Huck a cliff and land just slightly wrong, or catch an edge while bombing a run. That's right, the injuries that occur from our trying to show off to the rest skiers on the mountain, or trying to woo our significant others. It is inevitable that when you ski hard enough, you eat snow equally as hard. Now as professional ski bums most of us can't afford health insurance, because lets face it gear is far more important that our health! I am here to offer you light at the end of the tunnel. If you are hurt to the point of needing immediate hospitalization, by all means go. Though if you are able to hunt for a Doctor in the area we have a very low cost alternative from the most caring Doc's in the area. Dr. Kara Clapp, located about 12 miles from the ski areas, who is interested in only one thing, the well being of your health. She offers a no wait service, and the best part of the visit is she charges you by the minute that you are in her care. The average time spent in her clinic is 30 minutes @ 2.50 a minute. Obviously, depending on what you are being seen for and the severity of your injury this is subject to change, but she will leave no stone unturned. Moreover, if you call her from the slopes from the time you arrive at her office, she will be there waiting when you arrive. So, when planning your ski vacation, please have her information with you just in case. For all of her contact information please visit her at her website which is http://www.doctorkara.com/, and store her phone number in your cell phone. I know that she has been a life saver for me, and will follow up with you until she knows that you are getting better, or will give you referrals until she knows that you are in the best care possible. I must stress, if you require immediate attention by all means go to the hospital immediately. If not she is the most affordable health care in the Salt Lake City area. Also, if she feels that you need more attention that what she can give, she can get you into the closest hospital, with little to no wait. So my fellow powder hounds, from a twisted ankle to the common cold, this is the place to be! We here at Sawickied Ski Stash hope that you will not need her services, but it is always stellar to have a back up plan that will not break your bank account. Tell her Ryan Sawicki send you for a possible discount!

Skiing the best Mountain in Steamboat Springs but it is not Mt.Werner??

Hey All,

We wanted to pay tribute to a great city in northwest Colorado, Steamboat Springs! To me this is the best city in Colorado. I had the luxury of living here for 2 years, and will be commenting on Steamboat quit a bit, as there are so many things to do and see while visiting the boat. Today we are going to give you a little insight on where the best skiing is in Steamboat, and it in not Mt. Werner. So where is this secret place that hides all the powder? Buf Pass! That's right Buf Pass, has the best skiing/boarding in Steamboat hands down. Now, if your not traveling to Steamboat with a snowmobile, we recommend that you save yourself a lot of time and effort by using the Steamboat Powder Cats! These guys are great! Now, not only are you going to ride in a state of the art SnowCat (which is very cool in itself) you are also in for the best powder skiing in Steamboat. They know the area like the back of their hand, and make sure you get in the most runs as possible for the day, and they do it with that Steamboat flair that will keep you coming back year after year. I'm not saying that Mt.Werner is not a wonderful mountain, and I'm not saying that you will not want to ski there most of the time while on your vacation. What I am suggesting is that once you take this excursion with the Powder Cats, you will make it a priority to book with them every year you come back. I know that it is a must for myself, and my ski buddies when we hit the boat! So check it out cause we here at the blog and Sawickied Ski Co. give it 5 stars out of 5! You can find all the information you need about the company at http://www.steamboatpowdercats.com/, and the rest is all uphill from there! Much love all - Sawickied

Organic Duds??

Hey there Powder Hounds!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday, and hope you get all the gear you want to hit the slopes! Since it's Christmas Eve we here at the ole stash blog are going to keep it short, but want to give some attention to a company, that if nothing else, has a great slogan, but some dank organic outerwear! That's right, a company called Make Snow Not War is coming into the industry pretty hard with their organic clothing line. So check them out, help the global community (and their bottom line) by sporting this stuff on your local mountain! Peace out - Sawickied
In addition to my original posting a little bird has told me all outerwear is going to be available in more dope colors, so be on the lookout for that. And more importantly, we love companies that are donating to other important causes and this company has started a program called Gibe2Back too. Its a program where 2% off all sales goes into environmental groups across the country so we know they are defiantly throwing down some loot to help us ski and board as long as we can. So again know that when your buying their outerwear your also helping a global community as well! And we're all down with that!

Pre XMAS Gift for the Wasatch Mountains

Hello All!

I woke up this morning not really knowing what the snow god had in mind for all of us here in the Salt Lake City area, and got a huge smile on my face when my friends from the Deep Powder House (in beautiful Alta, UT.), had the weather forecast posted to my home page, and I knew that Christmas was going to be epic. Just like a little kid who knew he would be getting what he wanted for XMAS, this is what I was privy to:

NWS Digital Forecast Data for Alta

Now that I know all of my prayers have been answered by the snow gods, and the DPH (Deep Powder House) has taken an active role in meteorology, they are also the best Ski shop out west if not the U.S. The Deep Powder House has been in Alta for 50 years and has everything for your skiing needs. And I mean everything! Nordic, Tele, Slalom, and yes even the Uniskiier's can get their fix at the DPH! They have been in Ski Magazines Top Ten Ski Shop Series, constantly throughout the years. If your still not impressed, they are the oldest ski shop in the state of Utah! So it's a historical state landmark! Well, okay maybe not an official state landmark, but pretty damn close! The staff will exceed your expectations when your "pseudo" pro skiers from New York and Texas, just can't seem to get your ski's to work in the 700 inches of powder that coats the mountains to work, they will cater to your ego by putting you in an easier ski that really skis itself in these conditions, because after all it has nothing to do with your skiing abilities, but your faulty equipment. Though I digress, to see what the Deep Powder House has to offer and hours of operation, please visit them at http://www.deeppowderhouse.com/, and let em now that Sawickied sent ya, cause you may just get a discount. Now if you get to the mountain and don't know where to go, they are located next to the Gold Miner's Daughter, just above the kids towrope. Anyway folks hope that if you are in Alta, and in need of ski equipment this is mos def. the place to go! Sawickied
