RIP Mr. Oliva
It has been brought to the attention that a WISCO legend has passed away. Carmelo F. Oliva previous owner of Rib Mountain, now Granite Peak, in Wausau, WI. has died at the age of 77. Rib Mountain was the premier mountain in Wisconsin,, and produced many "WISCO" legends. I know that my mentor, Rick Elliott was a Rib Mountain native and is one of the best skiers I know. You will be Mr. Oliva, enjoy the untracked powder that awaits you in the next life! Our hearts our out to your family, though we know that you had a great life, and know that you are reserving first chair for your friends and loved ones, when that day comes. Thanks for all you've done for Wisconsin and the Mid West for letting us ride your mountain! Much Love - Sawickied

Miller Out, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia
Manfred Moelgg of Italy won a World Cup slalom event Sunday while Bode Miller sat out with a bad back. Miller however will retain his lead despite skipping the race. Hopefully with the final downhill, Super G, and slalom races ahead, Miller stands a good chance to claim his second overall title. Miller is the first American to won the over all title since Phil Mahre in 1983. We wish you the best Bode on a speedy recovery to finish what you've started. Sincerely and much love! Sawickied

An ALTA legend Johnny B
Hey Guys,
Just wanted to share a podcast that I found with an Alta Legend, Mr.Johnny B. Johnny has been a "pro" ski bum for going on his 15th season, and I believe most of it at Alta. So if you guys want the inside information on Alta, give his podcast a listen. Also, if you want a tour give him a shout, I hear for the right incentive he is more than happy to accommodate. Plus he's a super guy, I know I dig chatting with him. Check him out! Sawickied

Hey guys,
Just wanted everyone to know that there is another Pro athlete that is down and needs your help. He doesn't ski but he does like to live on the edge and go fast, something I think that we can all identify with. HelpRyanS.com, is the site to check out, he is a pro moto bike rider who was involved in an accident that was not his fault. As a former athlete who name is also RyanS I can identify when your world is turned upside down. So please check out this site and donate as much as you can. Many thanks, much love and peace - Ryan Sawicki

Accidente are no mistake....
Allo All,
Just wanted to post about a great band Accidente that celebrated their primer CD release party at the Tikki Lounge in SLC. I was unable to attend, due to location issues, lol, I was told to give them a listen by some very critical and credible people. So I had a listen, (and I'm not a hard rock kinda guy) this band gets you amped!! So if you are into that style of music or even if your not, give them a listen to support your SLC scene!! Give it a whirl!! Peace Sawickied

Thinking about A Ski Trip
I have created this blog to let you know what's going on in the world of skiing. I must admit though I've been a bit selfish. I've been writing about Utah quite a bit. As I sit here listening to the storm outside just keep pounding outside the window, I am just here to let you know that if you don't make it out to Utah this year, you will miss what I hope that i'm not going to jinx the gnar that's dumping everyday. I mean like 8 to 14 plus inches a day, everyday. I have never seen a winter like this in my life. I know the season of 2005 was huge as I think the Wasatch received 750 inches give or take a few feet. As it is the beginning of Feburary and we are almost at 500 inches, and if it is anything like last year the season went into June. So i'm making this short, but as a skier Alta
is the best resort hands down. But as i am meeting and riding with more and more Snowboarders, and I'm talking the whole spectrum of the pro circuit, Snowbird
seems to be the place to kick it with them. Anyway, make it out this way, skiier or boarder, Littlecotton Wood Canyon is the place to be.
Much love and don't miss out! Sawicki

The other side of the sport! 911
Hey all, We here at the blog love to write about the coolest gear and the gnarliest gnar spots, but this is part of the other end of the spectrum. Dane Williams has been missing since the San Diego trade show.Dane Williams is the marketing director for Hurley. Here is the skinny as of now. Dane Williams from the Hurley Marketing Dept. has been missing since Friday night at ASR (Action Sports Retailers Tradeshow). He was last seen Friday night at close to 2 am by the Hard Rock Cafe outside of the Marriott Gaslamp in San Diego. We are worried because no one has had contact with him since then. If you have heard from him or seen him, please contact the San Diego police department or Teton Gravity Research. Please pray as we want him to enjoy the blessings that god gave us the gnar and the outdoors. Much Love as always - Sawickied

One Foxy Lady
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that if you haven't heard of this metaphorical "Little" lady Roxy, well we are here to tell you that: Welcome Out Of Your Coma!!! Roxy, is everywhere! From the slopes to shootin the pipeline, to riding your bus line and the subway. This company has the ability to give you ladies the most dank snow gear, and then change into the hottest swimwear and ride the most innovative boards, respectively in both sports. And if that isn't enough you can change after a hard day riding you can change and put on Roxy perfume and still bag you the hottest dude on the slopes or beach. Honestly, I'm not even a good writer but I would like to think I have a lot to say, but I'm really at a loss for words. I can only hope that another company that I know of (Sawickied Ski and Board Wear) could reach the global sports community in the way this chic has! So in the words of what and who Roxy is; who better to tell you than the girl herself. So with no further adieu,

This is Truly an Addiction
We safely and effectively teach our clients the fundamentals of snowkiting thus starting their journey into the sport of snowkiting and kite riding. Other forms of kite riding include kiteboarding on water, kitesurfing waves, kite land boarding, and kite buggying. Learning to snowkite is the easiest and safest way to get into kite riding. Then of course you'll be able to take your skills to water as well. Check it out, this is nails! Can't wait to start seeing them on the Extreme Circuit and the X Games soon. I also have a huge hunch that Warren Miller (knowing him and passion for snow) will get to it soon enough to really to get it out to the masses. Peace and Much Love! Sawickied

OrbisPages.com-Boosting your Blog/Website Exposure
We here at the blog want to turn you on to a site that will increase your business with a very minimal cost. OrbisPages.com is a website that will do more than yellow pages at a cost you will not believe! This site offers your website or blog web engine exposures, site maps, products, images, and it really allows you to create a website (If you do not already have one), within the Internet community already. So this does two key things for you and your site. 1. Launches your existing website 9000. And 2. Allows you to create your own website and launches that 9000! And seeing how much this service compares to yellowpages.com and others like it, I bet you will pay for a years subscription with http://www.orbispages.com/, in what you pay a month to the competitions prices, with much more to offer hands down! Now, this site is dedicated to the skiing world so why are we blogging about it? Because we own our own website and it has triplied our business! So those of you that own your own business pertaining to skiing or just a reader that own its own business, this site will blow your mind!! So check it out, if you don't you are really doing yourself an injustice! Plus it stops all the trees we love to ski in to stay put because it is environmental friendly as there are no pages to be printed on, and no need to throw away all of those old phone books collected throughout the year! Peace and Much Love Sawickied Blog Staff
